TEXARKANA, USA — Grab your napkins and loosen your belts—Downtown Texarkana is transforming into taco central this Saturday, May 9th. The city is set to host the first-ever Texarkana Taco Festival, an all-day celebration of flavor, culture, and community spirit at the Front Street Festival Plaza.
From 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the heart of the Twin Cities will buzz with the sights and smells of over 70 vendors. Whether you’re a fan of authentic street tacos, fusion BBQ, or local favorites like Fat Jacks Oyster and Sports Bar, there is something to satisfy every craving.
A Jam-Packed Schedule of Events
This isn’t just about the food; it’s a full-throttle entertainment experience. The festival organizers have curated a lineup of quirky and competitive events that promise to keep the energy high all day long:
- 12:00 PM – Chihuahua Parade: Kick things off with the most adorable procession in town.
- 1:00 PM – Toughman of Salsa Contest: A fiery challenge for those who think they can handle the heat.
- 2:00 PM – Dress Your Pet Like a Taco: Creativity meets cuteness in this fan-favorite costume contest.
- 3:00 PM & 4:00 PM – Best Taco & Best Salsa: Local vendors go head-to-head for ultimate bragging rights.

Wrestling and Live Music
In a unique twist, the festival will feature Live Luchador Wrestling throughout the day, bringing high-flying action to the plaza. As the sun begins to set, the festivities will shift into a musical finale from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a live performance by the Southern Moonshine Committee.
