TEXARKANA, Texas/Arkansas — Organizers have announced full details for the 2026 Juneteenth Parade and Celebration, set for Saturday, June 20, in downtown Texarkana. The annual event honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates freedom, unity, and community pride across the Four States region.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Broad Street, travel through Downtown Texarkana, and conclude at Front Street Plaza, where a day‑long festival will follow featuring live music, food trucks, local vendors, and family activities.
Highlights include:
- 🎺 Performances by regional marching bands and dance troupes
- 🖤 Community floats representing local churches, civic groups, and schools
- 🎤 Main‑stage concert at noon featuring gospel, R&B, and jazz artists
- 🍗 Food and craft vendors from both sides of State Line Avenue
- 🧒 Children’s zone with games and educational exhibits on Juneteenth history
Event coordinator Angela Johnson said this year’s theme, “Freedom Forward: Building Together,” reflects Texarkana’s growing commitment to cultural unity and youth engagement.
