The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Gordon Lemmons, an evading child sex offender who authorities believe is currently hiding in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Background of the Case

Lemmons was originally arrested in July 2024 on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Following that arrest, he was released on a $150,000 bond. However, the situation escalated in May 2025 when new, similar charges were set to be filed against him.

According to investigators, Lemmons attempted to fake his own death and flee across the South Texas border into Mexico. After that attempt failed, he was reportedly picked up by an ex-girlfriend, Thesia Griffin. Griffin was recently arrested on April 28, 2026, for hindering apprehension and is currently held in the Bowie County Jail.

Current Status

TTPD has gathered evidence suggesting that Lemmons is receiving assistance from family and friends to remain hidden in the Hot Springs area. Police have issued a stern warning: Lemmons is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
