Texarkana firefighters responded late last night to a two‑story structure fire in the 1800 block of West 7th Street. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and active fire showing from the building.
Firefighters initiated an immediate search in the area believed to contain the occupants. As conditions rapidly deteriorated, crews were forced to exit the structure for safety. The occupants were later located in another area of the home and were tragically pronounced deceased.
