TEXARKANA, AR — A massive, coordinated search operation is officially underway across Texarkana as local authorities and specialized teams work to locate two missing men from Louisiana, Jonathan Bohrer and Johnny Hamilton.
The search, which spans Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4, is being spearheaded by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) Criminal Investigation Division in close coordination with the Miller County Office of Emergency Management and the Morgan Nick Foundation.
While the vehicles belonging to both Bohrer and Hamilton were discovered in close proximity to one another, TAPD spokeswoman Kristen Schultz emphasized that investigators currently have zero evidence linking the two disappearances.
“The overall goal is straightforward and critical: to locate the missing individuals,” Schultz stated, noting that teams are deploying search dogs, drones, and highly trained search parties from across the United States to navigate the challenging terrain.
Road Closures and Search Zones
Search operations are focusing heavily on the immediate areas where the men’s vehicles were recovered, with grids extending outward as necessary. To ensure the safety of the search teams and the integrity of the operation, several immediate closures are in effect:
- Roberts Street is closed to thru traffic.
- Poindexter Park is fully closed, with barricades placed at both entrances to restrict public access.
How the Community Can Help
While the sight of a large-scale search often prompts community members to offer hands-on help, TAPD has specifically requested that the public do not self-deploy to the search zones. The teams currently on the ground are highly trained in grid searches and evidence preservation.
However, residents living in and around the search perimeters are being asked to assist in the following ways:
- Secure All Pets: The Morgan Nick Foundation is utilizing specialized tracking dogs. Residents must keep their own dogs secured indoors or in fenced areas so they do not distract or interfere with the K-9 units.
- Stay Alert: Watch for increased law enforcement and drone activity in your neighborhoods over the next 48 hours.
- Report Tips: Anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, is urged to contact TAPD investigators immediately through standard reporting channels.
Authorities have not yet commented on whether foul play is suspected in either case, maintaining that the primary focus of the next two days is strictly a search and rescue effort to bring both men home safely.
