City Issues Boil Water Notice: Safety Guidelines for Texarkana Residents

The City of Texarkana has issued a precautionary boil water notice following a recent period of low water pressure in the public water system.

This action is in accordance with guidelines from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Residents must bring all water to a vigorous, rolling boil for at least two minutes and let it cool prior to consumption. This includes water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing hands or face.

Children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria and should use bottled water as an alternative if possible.

City officials and Texarkana Water Utilities are working to restore normal pressure, flush the lines, and conduct bacteriological surveys to ensure the water is safe.

Residents with questions can contact Corey Atkinson or Chris Cagle at Texarkana Water Utilities by calling (903) 798-3850.
