TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texarkana Arts & Historic District Committee will officially unveil the city’s newly restored downtown trolley during a ribbon‑cutting ceremony on Friday, June 12, at 4:30 p.m. outside the Downtown U.S. Post Office and Federal Courthouse, 500 N. Stateline Avenue.
The event marks the return of a beloved piece of Texarkana’s history — a trolley bus that has been carefully refurbished through a year‑long collaboration between the City of Texarkana, Texas Fleet Department and several local businesses. The project included new paint and graphics, interior cleaning, and a modern sound system, transforming the vintage vehicle into a rolling showcase for local pride.
A Community Effort
Arts and Historic District Committee Manager Brooke Stone described the restoration as “a labor of love,” crediting the teamwork of local partners who helped bring the trolley back to life. “We’re proud to have worked alongside so many talented businesses and community members to create something that will serve our city and visitors for years to come,” Stone said.

The trolley will serve as a mobile ambassador for downtown Texarkana, offering tours, event transportation, and visitor experiences throughout the Arts & Historic District.
