ASP Seizes Over 1,300 Pounds of Illegal Edibles During I-40 Traffic Stop

Investigation and Legal Context

The driver, who was traveling from California to Georgia, was interviewed by investigators and subsequently released pending further investigation. As of now, no formal arrests have been made.

This seizure follows the implementation of Arkansas Act 629, which went into effect in August 2023. The act prohibits the processing and possession of industrial hemp containing certain THC substances (like Delta-8, Delta-9, and Delta-10) on the state’s Schedule VI controlled substances list.
